What a KYB document pack contains

Institutions and providers ask for the same evidence categories. Assembling them once saves repeating the exercise per application.

The evidence categories

Know-your-business evidence covers the entity, its ownership chain, its controllers, and its activity. The specific documents vary by institution, but the categories do not.

  • Entity: incorporation documents, constitutional documents, current registers
  • Ownership: the chain to every beneficial owner, including intermediate entities
  • Controllers: identity and address evidence for each individual
  • Activity: a specific description with evidence — contracts, invoices, or a documented plan
  • Financial: accounts or management figures for the trading period

Keeping it current

Documents expire and ownership changes. A pack assembled once and never revisited fails at the next application, so it belongs in a maintained document vault rather than in an email thread.
